Born Andre Roussimoff, Andre The Giant was a wrestling legend who was billed at 7 feet tall and weighing 500 pounds. At the age of 18, Andre moved to Paris and was taught the art of professional wrestling by a local promoter who gave him the name "Géant Ferré", taken from the name of a mythical French giant. Andre later took on the name Andre The Giant, and moved on to the WWF, where he became an international household name.
